The Art Gallery of Ontario opens the doors for Family Day with a range of activities — special tours, hands-on activities and more. Mon. 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. 317 Dundas Street W.

Beach Family Day Festival has kids’ entertainers, arts & crafts, animals, a scavenger hunt and more. Mon. 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Kew Gardens at Queen St. E and Lee Ave. Info: 416-693-2242 or

Family Day REEL Scavenger Hunt, NFB Mediatheque in Toronto. Free for those ages 6+ starting at 10:15am, 12pm and 2pm, families will be taken on a quest through the Mediatheque, completing a scavenger hunt, enjoying a screening of NFB classics, and taking part in a fun hands-on object-animation workshop.
